Cyrus Icon X4 have a fantastic sound stage, if you listen to "live" recorded music, they produce a sound that is totally realistic, taking you right into the venue. When you play Sting’s "All this Time" you can shut your eyes and be in his Villa.

The mid and treble frequencies are handled by a carbon fibre alloy honeycomb panel driven by 4 NXT flat panel exciters. The advantages of flat panel technology are transparency and fantastic sound staging, with the sound appearing to come from the space between and beyond the speakers. This is because the area that is transmitting is about 800 square cms as opposed to 1 square cm from a more traditional tweeter. The weakness of flat panel speakers is their lack of bass response, which is overcome in this case by an 8 inch traditional bass driver. The clever bit is to get these two separate technologies to sound as a complete speaker, which is where Cyrus’s engineering skills have paid off.
